At Saxon’s Farm and Garden, we grow flowers not just for beauty — but for balance. Every bloom we plant supports a much bigger system: one that includes the bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects that help keep our environment thriving.
We believe that a flower farm should be a part of the ecosystem — not something separate from it. That’s why many of the varieties we grow are pollinator-friendly, and why we’re intentional about how we plant, treat, and harvest every stem.
🌼 Why Pollinators Matter
Pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are responsible for fertilizing over 75% of flowering plants — including many of the fruits and vegetables we eat. But over the years, pollinator populations have declined due to habitat loss, pesticide use, and monoculture farming.
We believe flower farms can be part of the solution. By growing organically, reducing chemical use, and choosing flower varieties that support local insects, we’re helping restore a little balance, one bloom at a time.
🐝 Some of Our Pollinator Favorites
Here are just a few of the pollinator-friendly flowers we’re growing this season:
• Zinnias – Bright colors and open faces make them a favorite for bees and butterflies alike.
• Cosmos – Their airy, daisy-like blooms are irresistible to hoverflies and bees.
• Sunflowers – Especially the Lemon Queen and Autumn Beauty varieties, which offer loads of pollen and nectar.
• Celosia – Loved for its texture and pollinator traffic.
• Strawflower & Statice – Even as they dry, they provide landing pads and interest for insects.
And we’re just getting started — as the farm expands, we plan to add even more native and wildflower-friendly options.
🌎 Our Earth Day Commitment
This Earth Day, we’re renewing our commitment to grow responsibly — with the health of our soil, our blooms, and our pollinators in mind. Every flower that leaves our farm is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or harsh fertilizers.
Because we believe beautiful flowers should never come at the cost of a healthy environment.
