There’s something sacred about this time of year. The chill starts to lift, the daylight stretches just a little longer, and the soil—finally—softens enough to welcome the first transplants of the season.
After weeks of nurturing tiny seedlings in trays under grow lights, today marked the official kickoff of our 2025 growing season here at Saxon’s Farm and Garden. We spent the day moving tray after tray of baby plants into the field, each one hand-placed in rows that will soon burst with color, fragrance, and joy.
We’re starting strong this spring with some of our tried-and-true favorites: snapdragons, zinnias, asters, cosmos, and more. These early beds are the foundation of what we hope will be a big season — not just in blooms, but in the connections we’re growing alongside them.
This year marks a big shift for us. While we’ve always had deep roots in flowers thanks to our work at Saxon’s Flowers and Gifts, 2025 is the first full season we’re farming flowers with a clear goal: to serve florists and wholesalers across Mississippi with high-quality, sustainably-grown blooms. Everything we do—from composting and water conservation to planting pollinator-friendly varieties—is about honoring nature while building something meaningful.
Whether you’re a local florist looking to source fresh-cut bunches, a flower lover who supports slow-grown blooms, or someone just curious about life on a flower farm—we’re glad you’re here.
The rows are being planted, the season has begun, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Let’s grow something beautiful together.
